Dr. SENIJA TURAN

Dr. Turan was born in Banja Luka, Bosnia & Herzegovina. As a child she moved to St. Louis with her family. She attended Saint Louis University where she received her Bachelors degree in Biology. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) in Chicago. During her studies she held multiple leadership roles and received numerous awards and clinical honors. Dr. Turan was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa, Tomb and Key, and Gold Key International Optometric honor societies. Following graduation, Dr. Turan completed a post-doctoral residency specializing in Ocular Disease and Primary Eye Care at the Illinois Eye Institute. She has advanced training in treating and managing complex ocular pathology including urgent ocular problems, glaucoma, retinal disease, and dry eye. She received her fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Turan provides comprehensive eyecare to patients of all ages. She has a special interest in fitting speciality contact lenses including contact lenses for high astigmatism, bifocals, and non-surgical vision-shaping correction. She is fluent in English and Bosnian. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family. She enjoys spending time outdoors, especially running in the summer and skiing in the winter.
