Meet Our Optometrist Team



Dr. Dirk Massie attended the University of Illinois where he graduated with honors while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology (Sports Medicine). He then attended 4 years of Optometry School at the University of Missouri. Some of you may know other people or doctors with the last name Massey. Doctor Massie is often asked if he is related to anyone who is also named Doctor Massey. He usually goes on to tell them that he is the first Optometrist in the family and they are not relatives of his. While in Optometry school, he worked at one of the largest private practices in the country where the eye doctors were also the team eye doctors for the St. Louis Rams, St. Louis Blues, and University of Missouri athletes.

Dr. Massie specializes in contact lenses and sports vision. He has been specially-trained and certified to fit the most complex contact lenses. He routinely prescribes contact lenses for patients with astigmatism, contacts for eye disorders/diseases, bifocals, and even vision shaping contact lenses that provide non-surgical vision correction. Dr. Massie also practices full scope eye care, including LASIK surgery care, and has the authority to write prescription medicines for conditions such as glaucoma, dry eyes, and allergies. In his spare time Dr. Dirk Massie enjoys spending time with his wife, Julie and their three children, Carson, Brock, and Olivia. He enjoys traveling, playing golf, and attending University of Illinois sporting events.



Doctor Marcus Cuff is a native of the metro-east area having grown up in Collinsville, IL. Marcus attended Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) in Cape Girardeau, MO graduating with Bachelor’s degrees in both Chemistry and Biology. Marcus graduated cum laude with academic distinction in the field of biology related to Microbiology research completed while at SEMO. Marcus was also actively involved in education as a supplemental instructor while at SEMO receiving a University Service Award for outstanding service to the University and the Southeast region. Upon completing his studies, Marcus elected to continue his education at University of Missouri- St. Louis College of Optometry. During his Optometric education, Marcus worked at Performance Eyecare performing several tasks related to patient care. Marcus obtained a variety of patient care specialization with rotations at many well known clinics including the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Jefferson Barracks and John Cochran and well-established private doctor’s offices in the St. Louis area.

Doctor Cuff’s optometric fields of interest include pediatric vision, binocular vision and vision therapy, ocular disease, and specialized contact lens fitting. Doctor Cuff is dedicated to treating patients of any age just like they were family and likes the variability that can be encountered in daily practice while working with patients with different needs. Doctor Cuff is an active member of the American Optometric AssociationIllinois Optometric Association, and Southwestern Illinois Optometric Society. In his spare time, Dr. Cuff enjoys spending time outdoors including hunting, fishing, golfing, and camping.



Dr. Susan Dreyer is a 1990 graduate of the University of Missouri – St. Louis School of Optometry and has been in optometric practice in the St. Louis area for over 20 years – the last 15 years serving the Creve Coeur area.

She holds two undergraduate degrees from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She was honored to be awarded the Low Vision Clinical Award upon graduation from Optometry school for her exceptional performance in this specialized area.

While native to the St. Louis area, Dr. Dreyer spent her high school and college years on the east coast before returning back to St. Louis to establish her clinical practice as a Doctor of Optometry.

Dr. Dreyer has enjoyed watching Performance Eyecare in Creve Coeur grow and evolve of the last 3+ years. She believes that the quality of care and professionalism exhibited by all Performance Eyecare employees is simply unmatched. Patients and their ocular needs and concerns come first in her practice. She is eager to fit you in the perfect pair of contacts, treat your dry eyes and prescribe spectacles that give you the best possible vision.

She is married with three children and is very active in her community; volunteering to work a fish fry, serving on a school board, or co-chairing the annual auction. When she has free time, she loves to travel and spend time with her family enjoying the outdoors.



Dr. W. Kevin Wright graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1980 with a bachelor of arts degree in Science and Technology. He is a 1984 graduate of The University of Houston College of Optometry, and has been servicing the Greater Alton/Riverbend Area for over 30 years and hopes to continue to do so for several more years to come as a member of Performance Eyecare. Dr. Wright does not specialize in any one area of optometry, rather he practices in all areas and is well-trained to prescribe contacts or glasses to fit your lifestyle needs, as well as medications for eye emergencies and diseases.

When not in the office, Dr. Wright and his wife, Starlet, enjoy spending time at their private property in Vulcan, MO and visiting with their three children and four grandchildren. They will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in December 2016! Dr. Wright is a very active individual and rides his bicycle 6-10 miles per day, and even when it’s too cold to do so, he runs on a treadmill or hits the gym. Dr. Wright and Starlet are active members of The Church of Christ located in East Alton, and Dr. Wright practices as an elder of the church.



St. Louis, MO LocationDr. Dan Cerutti graduated the School of Optometry at UMSL in 1986 and immediately began his practice at Warson Optics working for the late Al Schlueter and his wife, Nancy. In 1996 Dr. Cerutti purchased Warson Optics and Pro Vision Center in Arnold, MO. In 2008 he merged the Arnold location into Warson Optics and enjoys seeing all of his patients at one office.

Dr. Dan Cerutti is a native of St. Louis having graduated DeSmet Jesuit High (1978) and St. Louis University (1982) before attending optometry school. He and his wife, Laurie, have two children, Allie and Mark. He is an active member of St. Louis Optometric Society, St. Simon Holy Name Society, and a recent board member of the St. Louis University High Father’s Club.

Dr. Erik Peyton


Dr. Erik Peyton grew up in Lake Saint Louis, MO, attending Wentzville Holt High School. He later attended Columbia College in Columbia, MO and spent four years playing on the golf team. At Columbia, Dr. Peyton graduated Summa Cum Laude while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended four years of optometry school at the University of Missouri- St. Louis and graduated with honors. During his education at UMSL, he worked as a technician at a private practice, which gave him added clinical experience with patients. During his clinical rotations at UMSL, he spent time at well-established private practices in the St. Louis area and at the prestigious Kansas City Veterans Affairs hospital. Dr. Peyton also received distinction for outstanding achievement in contact lenses from the UMSL faculty.

Dr. Peyton specializes in ocular disease, including treatment of dry eye and glaucoma, and specialty contact lenses. He is up to date on the latest technology in dry eye and fits contact lenses for patients with dry eye, high amounts of astigmatism, bifocal lenses, and non-surgical vision-shaping lenses. Dr. Peyton is dedicated to treating patients of all ages, and vows to give his patients not only the most appropriate treatment, but also educate them so they can better understand their eyes.  In his free time, Dr. Peyton enjoys playing golf, traveling, and cheering for his hometown St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues.
